About Dr Emma Rae Rhead

I originally trained and practised as a medical doctor for over a decade before moving into private practice.

I have over 25 years’ experience working one-to-one with people experiencing anxiety, stress and overthinking, often alongside physical symptoms, tension or difficulty switching off.

My approach is calm, direct, and grounded.

I offer focused, contained sessions that work directly with how these patterns are experienced, allowing the system to settle and responses to begin to change at their source.

The work is intentional, without force or unnecessary complexity.

Dual-trained in medicine and psychological approaches, I am confident and experienced working with clients managing complex medical diagnoses.

Over time, my approach has become simpler and more direct, shaped by many years of clinical practice. It reflects a move away from more structured or technique-based approaches.

It is based on the understanding that lasting change often does not come from more talking, thinking harder, or accumulating another technique, but from allowing the system to settle and reorganise in a more natural way.

This approach is not primarily focused on discussion, analysis, or goal-setting, but on working directly with how experience is held in the system as a whole. The focus and pace is guided by what is directly experienced in the moment, rather than imposed, allowing change to occur in a more direct and less effortful way.

This work tends to resonate with people who are tired of talking things through without resolution, or trying to push or think their way forward.

It is suited to those who are outwardly managing their lives, but are carrying a high level of emotional or physical stress, responsibility or internal pressure, and who want a clear, and steady way of working.
